Review: Avengers: Infinity War - Marvel Legends Thor // Rocket Raccoon // Groot 3-Pack (Toys R Us Exclusive)

This is one of my favorite sets, Two out of 3 figures in this set are new and they help me recreate scenes from the movie which is always a bonus in my book. I had to get this through Amazon because Toys R Us is no longer a thing. I got this for about $33 which was good considering it was also twice that amount a couple weeks earlier. Either way, it was way cheaper than the Vision and Scarlet Witch set...

So Thor! Mah boi! Chris Hemsworth, he's my favorite of the set, the articulation and sculpt is good.
The black uniform with the lightning bolts look great however! I wish he didn't have this fancy effect because he doesn't need it. It does look nice, the diaphragm ball joint works for him as well, you get the whole range.
The headsculpt is pretty spot on and looks like Chris Hemsworth even with the lightning bolt eye. He does have an eyepatch but an interchangeable head would have been nice.
His one accessory is Hofund, Heimdall's sword which is a very long sword and probably the same height as a 6" figure. It has nice silver paint and a probably painted in a bronze plastic because the handle is painted brown but not the hilt.
He holds it pretty well with either hands but it's a little tough to get it in there.
I don't see why he came with this accessory, Heimdall needs his own figure.
But what other accessories would have worked? I don't know, maybe Stormbreaker.
The plastic is pretty hard on this one so it won't warp as easily.
Oh! Maybe some lightning accessories since he has the lightning on his armor.
Living Laser's effects work perfectly, if you find anymore it'll do for some good pictures.
Rocket has already been released in the Mantis Build-a-Figure wave. There are some slight variations on the straps and such. A lot is reused in this figure.
Certain joints on this figure are lame, like the elbows and knees, wrists and ankles. The joints are so thin that I'm afraid I might break them.
Thankfully they haven't since they're pretty flexible. The tail is also articulated and can swivel as well as go forward and back. It helps with balancing in certain poses.
The face isn't the best, I don't actually like this one and prefer the open mouth. The jaw is a separate piece surprisingly.
He comes with two guns that are just painted silver and no wash like the original release.
They're okay, he doesn't use them in the movie. They fit in the hand perfectly and it's not a hassle to get them on, unlike Hofund.
He also comes with this larger gun, it's painted in the same silver but with some gold accents along the barrel. He has trouble holding it due to the limited elbow and wrist articulation. It's tricky but possible to get him to hold it with two hands. It does look strange but passable.
It's just a repack but it works. And I don't mind having another one for display purposes.
Teen Groot was the most anticipated figure for me, it was the main reason for buying the set.
He is nicely detailed, okay articulated and his face looks a little weird. Besides that, this is a great figure. The bark that's detailed along the body looks "real" but it does need a little more paint. The funny part about this figure is the two planks that make his butt...
The head has a weird expression and his neck goes forward as if he's hunching...
The gamepad thingy looks pretty basic, it's a translucent blue plastic with a black border and some purple and white dots throughout it. I think it looks cool and it's a good accessory for Groot, I wish it was a little more specific.
For $33 and Three-ish figures... it's not bad and it completes my Guardians shelf. I need to get myself Yondu and GotG2 Drax.
I believe he's still in Amazon for pretty cheap so I'd recommend picking the set up. It's worth it especially if you're trying to complete your Guardians or the Infinity War figures that are out.
