Review: Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - Thanos Build-a-Figure wave Captain America (Nomad) and Midnight Proxima

So moving on from recent figures, I was planning on getting the Infinity War Thanos Build-a-Figure wave as it came out... of course, that didn't happen. I did get them recently and it was quite a hunt. Cap, Songbird, Serpent Society, and Midnight Proxima through a set which was about $64, a good deal! Especially since Cap by himself was about $50 plus! Well, after getting the set I find another cap at Target (and Taskmaster which I bought for $37!) because they were re-releasing the waves! Ugh! Still, I did buy another Cap for... reasons.

For Captain America I did see when he came out in stores, I saw him at a GameStop in a mall once and thought he looked strange and wondered why he had a strange looking shield.
"From the streets of Brooklyn to the intergalactic stage.
Steve Rogers defends justice as Captain America."
Overall his costume is a very dark blue, and the reds are faded and the star on the chest is gone. He sports a single glove and rolled sleeves.
The weirdest part of the figure is the head, it looks nothing like Chris Evans... seriously, it's a very poor attempt at his face and it's unfortunate.
Either way, there are plenty of custom heads to choose from but I think I'll stick with this one.
He comes with two open hands which can hold onto anything that has a handle.
And a pair of fists... which for some reason the left gloved hand isn't gloved anymore... I don't know if it was an oversight or they just didn't care.
Still, even though the left gloveless fisted hand he can still look cool. The glove can be more of a wristband if you use your imagination.
The single vibranium shield looks great, nothing like the one in the movie and like I said... just one.
I did get a second Cap when I saw him at Target on the re-release which is great! I didn't have to pay $20 for an extra shield. I do like the lines on the shield but it does look off. I don't like the grey and silver color. The black would have worked a lot better.
He does fit in great with the great Wakandan King, T'Challa so you can recreate some awesome scenes from the movie. He doesn't look bad with a single shield though.
Proxima Midnight wasn't that hard to find surprisingly. I had seen her in stores by herself but not much else. I am glad to have gotten her with the other 3 for $64, it was a steal!
She does have really nice detailing and texture along the body. I like the gold pauldron on the left arm and the gold boot armor on the right leg.
The detail on the face doesn't really look like the CG model in the movie. Her face shape is a little masculine here which is why I thought she was a guy for the longest time. I do like the hair and horns though, they complete the space demon look.
Her spear is a little on the short side, even if you get really close the end of the shaft it still won't touch the ground. The prongs are very very fragile so be careful. The entire spear as a whole is fragile and will break if you're not careful.
Much like Corvus Glaive, she only has one grabby hand and a loose palm. He right hand does most of the work and the other is there for support. I'm not the biggest fan of the chest swivel. It doesn't do much for me.
I'm still in love with this figure, she's so imposing and the spear just finishes the look.
If you can get her buy her, Cap should be a little harder to come across but if you can find the re-release in store, get it! It's worth it. Happy hunting!
