Review: Avengers: Infinity War - Marvel Legends Black Widow // Thor // Cull Obsidian Build-a-Figure

Finishing up the Cull Obsidian wave with Black Widow, Thor, and Cull Obsidian (I will look into the comic figures at some point) and I love Thor the most because his articulation is the least restrictive... which the cape can restrict in certain poses. These last two figures I got from Amazon because I couldn't find them in person. Black Widow wasn't much, 19.99 with free shipping, Thor on the other hand, I saw him for 19.99 but didn't jump on it fast enough so I ended up having to buy him for 28.99 and then a couple hours later he was back down to 19.99 which was a shame. Then about 2 weeks later, the entire Cull Obsidian wave showed up at Wal-Mart along with the Armored Thanos wave which was a little upsetting but what can you do?

 Black Widow

Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, not necessarily my favorite version of this figure but what can you do? She looks fine, and she does resemble Scarlett Johansson.
She has a lot of detail in her catsuit, the textures, straps, and holsters are all there in the sculpt.
She does have this annoying vest that doesn't need to be there as a separate piece but it is.
To be completely fair, it is nicely sculpted, you can see the amount of detail on the zippers and buckles on the vest and since it's removable you can see the detail under the vest.
Honestly, I'm surprised with the amount of detail that's underneath especially with her Black Widow logo. It's painted silver with some red and it's mostly covered under the vest, they didn't need to but they did. I do like her wrist stingers, they look very similar to the Wasp's but different y'know. They're technically called Black Widow's Bite.
She does look a bit like Scarlett, not perfect but she does. Not the biggest fan of the blonde hair but it does grow on me. The figuarts one pulls of the do a lot better.
She has a lot of accessories, a pair of grabby hands, some thingies and her sticks.
Of course, the pair of fists, however! She does have a really nice range of elbow articulation with goes over 90 degrees, I wish she had double elbow articulation but progress.
These things, which I don't know what they are honestly, some sort of disk shooters, or tasers? I don't know she doesn't use them in the movie.
For something that she didn't need they're nicely sculpted and they fit in the holster.
She also has her iconic batons! They're soft and they warp easily but they look good! Kind of, they're kinda goofy looking honestly.
They go clip together well, they stay together and the peg is sturdy enough that I'm not too worried about breaking it.
You can get her in some cool poses with the staff, she needs a little more wrist articulation to wield it with both hands.

Thor

The strongest Avenger, Thor Odinson, and this doesn't look much like Chris Hemsworth.
The overall costume, looks great. The amount of detail on the costume is pretty amazing and I love the color variations throughout. It's the same body as the one from the 3-pack with different arms and a cape. The cape looks good but since it's made out of plastic it can get in the way.
His shoulders are a little tight for my liking I'm afraid to break him whenever I pose him. I do like the ball joint diaphragm swivel which gives him a really good range of motion for a lot of poses.
Behind the cape there's still paint and detail and it looks good. As for the face, it doesn't resemble Chris Hemsworth period. It looks good, the paint and face print is on point. He still has his new haircut and a scar on his right eye.
He comes with two accessories, Stormbreaker and a lightning effect.
He does wield Stormbreaker well, but again, much like black widow he needs more range of his wrist to hold it well without one of the hands giving out.
The lightning effect just improves the dynamic poses you can do with Thor and I love it.
This one is especifically make for Stormbreaker since it's supposed to coil around it.
He does look much more accurate than Captain America from the Thanos wave.
If you have Groot and Rocket from the two pack you can recreate your favorite scenes and he looks good as a part of the Asguardians of the Galaxy.

Cull Obsidian

This Build-a-Figure is a mixed bag, on one hand, he looks great, the amount of detail and paint is great, especially for a Build-a-Figure. However he doesn't look like he does in the movie and that's due to the concept art that was sent to Hasbro before the movie came out.
So here he is shirtless and almost naked but there have been people who customized him to look more like he did in the movie. Still, the skin texture looks good. Even the face looks amazing, it's the most accurate part of the figure.
He fits in with his other Black Order members.
He's significantly bigger than the 6" figures and because of his size, he'll have restricted articulation.
He has single elbow joints which is a shame. His only accessory is his Hammer which looks pretty strange, the design is weird and he can only hold it on the left arm. The texture of the hammer is pretty rough so getting into the arm will actually scratch and damage the hand if you're not careful.
Still, I'm glad to have this figure, wish he looked more accurate. Proxima Midnight is also based on concept art but it looks accurate to the movie so I don't know.
You can get some cool poses because of the ball jointed diaphragm. The hammer wielding hand should have had some gunslinger action so he could extent with it.
He's almost as large as Hulkbuster, I do want the Figuarts Hulkbuster Mark 2 to go with Cull Obsidian.
At some point I would like to have a more accurate version of him but this still works well.
This is a fairly new wave so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Some might even be on clearance and because they're rereleasing the waves you won't have to pay for third party prices. Look on Amazon as well, you'll find a couple from the wave there.
