Review: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy - Hasbro Lightning Collection Lost Galaxy Magna Defender

This is the coolest of the second wave in the line, seriously, just look at it. Despite not watching Power Rangers Lost Galaxy to completion, I did watch a bit of it so I'm familiar with the character. I loved the costume although I did think the horns on the helmet were a bit silly. I do like his armor, he looks like a knight, which is appropriate since his character in Seijuu Sentai Gingaman was called Kuro Kishi (黒騎士), which is Japanese for "Black Knight". It's quite impressive that he made it to the line to begin with, especially for a character like this to be introduced so early in the line's lifetime. He has one of the more intricate, if not the most intricate, suits in the series. He was the first figure I found along with the Beast Morphers Gold Ranger at Walgreens.

The box looks cool and surprisingly colorful because of the "gold" and green highlights of the boxart.
The helmet looks cool if you look at the box from the right corner.

The bax has a nice shot of the prototype in one of his signature poses.
The basic Lightning Collection packaging, nothing new.

Magna Defender

The figure is pretty amazing, especially since this is one of the suits that isn't just spandex. There's a lot of intricate pieces in this suit. The armor is the best part of the figure. The chest piece is a separate piece and the pauldrons attach to it at the top. The cape is also a separate piece which makes sense, although a cloth cape would have been appreciated.
The helmet looks amazing, you have a knight-like visor at the front, gold and silver accents. The green gem looks cool and it's nicely painted. The horns look cool but they still have this silly appearance but it does make him stand out.
You do have a couple accessories for this figure.
You get a pair of grabby hands in order to hold his sword on his right, left, or both hands.
Without the "sword" action wrist hinge, he can't point his sword up to the sky.
The Magna Sword is nicely made but it is a little on the smaller side.
The handle is a little small but it does it's job.
It also slides into the sheath, which is attached to the belt and is a separate piece attached to the torso.
You can unpeg it and you can give him the Magna Blaster which is a separate piece, which is fair since making on that can transform would be pretty hard.
You also get another pair of hands that are meant to be used with the blaster. You get one blaster holding can and a right, looser, more relaxed hand.
You get one effect piece which attaches to the tip of the Blaster.
It's specifically made for the Blaster, there's a slit in the back where it's shaped for the tip.

Overall, a great figure. There's a lot of things they did in order to make him as poseable as possible.
Although, the amount of detail does get in the way. The pauldrons get in the way or just moves in a weird fashion depending on how you move the figure.
The ankles also have a swivel instead of a boot one which is nice since boot/ankle swivel are essential for Martial Arts poses.
He should be easier to find than the Pink Ranger but the one's warming the pegs are Gold and Red Beast Morphers' Rangers. I have seen him fairly consistently so you'll have a good chance in getting one. His price range is about $19-22.99 which is a good price. Best of luck and Happy Hunting!
