Review: Avengers: Endgame - Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure Endgame Thor

Finally we get to the man himself, Thor! Son of Odin! Again, burned out, super busy, especially around this time of year and I wanted to take a couple pictures before posting this one. I like the direction they went with for Thor, I wasn't expecting it and honestly, I was surprised. I thought it was a little much at the beginning and little by little he was becoming himself again. As for this figure... eh, I would have preferred his armored form more than this one but we have it and I'll appreciate it but I can't wait until they release the armored form. Anyway, let's get to it.

Thor

This figure is based on his appearance after he gets off his butt and into Avengers Headquarters in order to figure out a way to get all of the Infinity Stones and one angry sludge kinda thing. It looks accurate, very colorful honestly and it does have a very plasticy look to it. The crocs and pajama pants are nicely done. The blue sweater is also nicely done, it has the strings for the hoodie as separate pieces. The red robe is good, it has the wrinkled detail and the sash dangles. It does look good! The robe does get in the way of articulation and it can be a little annoying, although you're not really going to pose him in super dynamic poses so I guess it's okay.
He comes with two heads, this one has glasses and the eyes are painted if I remember correctly, the beard is nicely painted, the hair is incredible, it looks nice and dirty at the same time.
While not my preferred look but I do appreciate it. The glasses on mine are a little crooked but I'm not really going to use this one all that much.
The second head does look a lot like Chris Hemsworth it's amazing. Same amount of detail for the hair and beard and there's a clearer view of that scar he's sporting on his right eye.
I do like this head, but it just disappoints me that it couldn't have been the armored look.
From certain angles he does look a lot better, from the side, it's almost perfect, and the way the hair is done it wraps around the sculpted hoodie.
He'll also fit in with your other Marvel Legends, you just need to give your Hulk a sweatshirt and maybe nicer sweatpants.
He does come with an alternate left hand which comes with the time travel GPS. it's nicely sculpted and it looks much better than the ones the Quantum suit figures had.
He also comes with Stormbreaker, this time it's a new sculpt. It is smaller which is disappointing.
The paint application is poorly done, it does have a more accurate appearance but at what cost?
One other thing that everyone is doing is head swapping. It doesn't really work, I'll wait until the Armored Thor comes out.
The Infinity War head does fit one this body although it's very loose but it does look good.
You can recreate that scene from the beginning of the movie.
The articulation is... strange. The arms also do something funky, they peg in at the shoulders since it's a Build-a-Figure, and they have a weird ratchet which scare me when I move it since I don't want to break it...
The bicep has a nicely hidden swivel, double jointed elbows. Wrist swivel at the peg, and hinge on the wrist.
Hinge at the neck and ball jointed head. Another ball joint in the diaphragm. Hips go forward and back, in and out. The robe gets in the way. Hinge at the foot and pin for rocker action. Thigh swivel, and, strangely enough, a knee swivel. I'm not completely sure why they decided to go that route.
All we need is a good smaller Endgame or Infinity War War Machine. They do look pretty good together.
He is a lot smaller than the previous Thor, I'm not sure how to feel about that.
He is still taller than Cap but barely taller than Iron Man, then again, a man in a metal suit. I guess I know why, he wasn't super tall compared to Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. so they fixed it?
I do like it but they could have just given us a regular Thor, this didn't even need to be a Build-a-Figure. It would have been another Hulk? I guess there's not really another character they could have done, War Machine could have been that Build-a-Figure too. Apparently, this wave is hard to find, if you do find it, maybe you can get that rollback. There's also 6 figures in the wave so that's a total of about... $140-$100 depending on where you get them and for how much. Happy hunting!
