The figure is all back with a picture of the Black Ranger helmet in the Dragon Shield.
The side shows the rest of the helmet as well as the logo up on the top.
The back has a CG render of the figure which looks pretty good. The prototype doesn't have the Mastodon coin painted gold like the figure does.
The other side has a bit of the lightning bolt as well as another cropped picture of the Black Ranger.
Dragon Shield Black Ranger
The figure if pretty much identical to the Green Ranger and the Red Ranger except for the color of the suit. The belt is new and is nicely painted with a silver Morpher. All of the paint applications look pretty clean here and the diamonds, both black and white, are painted well. The shield is the same as the other two. I do like the way the suit looks with the gold armor. Reminds me of the Gold Ranger.
The Mastodon Helmet, or Mammoth is nicely does, the silver outlines in the detailing along the helmet is so nostalgic to me. I love the way it's designed, the trunk and the tusks are a great part of the helmet.
The figure comes with two pairs of hand. One open palm and a fist.He also comes with a pair of holding hands to hold to Power Axe with.
The Power Axe is identical as the one that came with the SDCC set. It also has a sliding barrel which allows it to be used in cannon mode. It's a neat touch that I wasn't expecting.
It is pretty sturdy so I'm not too worried about it breaking, it does get warped depending on how you store it but it's an easy fix.
It does come with an accessory which is an effect piece.
The blaster is identical to the Red Ranger's it has the white paint applications instead of the silver.
Unfortunately, because of the wrist articulation and the way the hand was sculpted it points at a weird angle which is a little annoying. I wish he came with the Blade Blaster in stick mode instead.
The unmasked is... not the best. It has no resemblance to Walter Jones, as someone pointed out, he looks more like Jermaine Jackson. It is a nice accessory but I think the prototype looked a whole lot better.
It is a nice accessory but it's not the best headsculpt we have gotten. The shield is removable, unfortunately the bands on the biceps aren't so you'll have to wait until the regular release is out.
It does go well with the other MMPR Rangers. The third wave has the regular Red Ranger.
I seriously can't wait, some people swapped the biceps of this figure with the Shadow Ranger's and it looks flawless, so that's an option if you're impatient.
As you can see, the bodies are pretty identical, the only thing changing being the helmets and belts.
The back is the same, I do like the variety of colors.
As much as I like the figure, that head is a huge fail. Kimberly does resemble Amy Jo. but this doesn't look anything close to Walter Jones which is a shame.
With the helmets, they look good, we just need regular releases of everyone to go with the Pink Ranger.
It should be $19.99 since it's going to be at Walgreens and judging from how long it took me to find the other Walgreens exclusives, some people will get really lucky, and some will have a terrible time trying to find this. It did go up on the Website and app a couple weeks ago and shipped but it's been sold out and the listing has been taken down. Good luck finding one, don't give up!
