Review: Avengers: Endgame (2019) /Avengers (2012) - Marvel Legends Captain America (Endgame Thor BAF)

I've had this set since mid-October and I've had a bit of a burnout considering how many other things I've been doing. I work 6 days a week and almost all day and don't get home until late at night. My weekends are also busy, thankfully I found some time this past weekend to move some stuff around and I also took some pictures of the newest wave from the Avengers: Endgame (2019) figures. Since they're a nice variety of characters than can represent a lot of different movies I'll do them separately this time around. The first of the bunch (which is an all MCU wave) being this Captain America from his appearance in the first Avengers film (which I can rewatch since I have access to Disney+) or where they go back in time to get the stones and future Cap fights younger Cap for Loki's staff. I have a couple problems with this figure... and I kinda like it for some weird strange reason.

The box has all the accessories display and the Avengers: Endgame logo, I guess he could double as your future Steve Roger's in disguise or your 2012 Cap or both... especially if you have two!
The side of the box has some artwork which has a nice concept artwork piece on the side which also shows up on the back. It looks very "classic" captain america look, more so than the actual suit in the film since it was supposed to have a very "old school" look to it.
This artwork makes the Cowl or mask look so much better than it actually did. Also, that is not Chis Evans...
You also get Thor's right arm along with your Cap.

Captain America (2012)

The detail is pretty good... especially for a figure from 2012, which is pretty funny if you think about it. They go back in time and fight an older/younger version of Captain America from 2012 and this is the exact same mold from the 2012 Wal-Mart exclusive line that released back then. It's a nice figure, but it's also incredibly outdated. The texture is nice, the details are there and the plastic is much nicer in color and quality. The paint application is also much nicer touching up some details which they didn't paint beforehand. The back of the suit isn't accurate though, the real suit doesn't have the star in the back which does bother me. I do like the addition of the black details on the boots.
The head... is new, well sort of. The head isn't the same as the original figure, it's better detailed and has better paint application. It also doesn't look like Chris Evans as Captain America. The head is a reuse of the Quantum Suit Captain America from the first wave. It sits very awkwardly on this head which is upsetting since it's a good costume.
The shield is the same ol' shield, identical to the First Ten Years and Armored Thanos Wave Captain America shields.
The straps are also there, he can hold the straps or go through all the way to the wrist. The hands are rubbery enough to be slightly annoying when trying to get the shield on.
It does complete the look, ignoring the fact that the mold is outdated, it does look pretty good.
He does look pretty cool admittedly, an awkward at the same time, I can't seem to decide.
The ball joint is too big for the Chris Evans head so it'll take a bit of force to get it in, it'll also stretch out the socket so be careful, thankfully I have two of those Captain Americas.
It sits up on the head a little too high and it doesn't look right. If you have the old one or another one of these you can recreate that awesome scene.
Also, as far as I'm concerned, that's not America's ass, it's a shame since they could have made an all new sculpt which would have been infinitely better.
It does look good with the other figures and I'm glad it's here with a more updated head and color scheme, it fits well with the "Smart" Hulk BAF which is based of the scene where they go back in time or the design from Thor: Ragnarok. It'll also fit with your First Ten Years Avengers (2012) Iron  Man Mark VII.
Hopefully the other Avengers get an update, that would be great, maybe a matching head for the Hulk too along with the purple jumpsuit or team suit.
It is shorter than the Iron Man which I'm okay with since he is a man in a suit. Significantly shorter than the Hulk BAF which does look a little strange to me.
He's taller and slightly taller than the Team Suit Cap and the Power & Glory Cap.
The head is a little bit better painted on this new one. The face is also not as wide but still pretty wide.
Taller than both the Civil War Cap and Infinity War Cap.
And a tiny bit taller than the old 2012 Captain America from the Avengers (2012) Wal-Mart line.
The new paint job does this figure so many favors. It's such a big upgrade but I just wish it had been a brand new figure since this sculpt does have it's issues especially with the lack of wrist articulation.
The shield of the old one will strap on the back with ease which I do like a lot. It's a bit smaller though.
The joints are cut in awkward parts and the hip piece is horrendous. There is a diaphragm swivel but it just looks so strange. There is no waist swivel or crunch which is a shame. However, despite the terrible cuts, he is the most flexible of the caps and most Marvel Legends.
He just came out and started showing up at Wal-Marts. I was lucky enough to get this for below retail price. Wal-Mart had a rollback on Marvel Legends Avengers figures and this used the same code I guess so I got them for $16.85 which makes me really happy. If not on rollback, $18.95 isn't so bad. GameStop should start getting them soon but for $22.99, they'd also be online so keep an eye out, since it's new it should be easier to find, especially this cap in particular. Since it's new, it might also be hard to find since everyone will want to complete the BAF. Happy Hunting!
