Review: Avengers: Endgame - Marvel Legends Iron Patriot/War Machine Mark 006 (Endgame Thor Wave)

Finally we have a proper War Machine, or more accurately, Iron Patriot. I do wish they had released the Mark 004 and Mark 006 (even the 005 would have been nice) but it's okay. This one appeared at the very end of the film once Ant-Man escapes from the rubble along with Hulk, Rocket, and Rhodey. While this character was previously released in the second Endgame wave (Smark Hulk), it wasn't accurate to the film, it was based on concept art for War Machine. It does use some pieces but for the most part it's pretty new. Let's get to it!

You get the same box, Avengers: Endgame logo at the bottom.
You get some art for the Iron Patriot armor. You get a better view on the back and judging from this, it is missing a couple paint applications.
"Proud and powerful, the Iron Patriot is heavily armed, high-tech, and ready for battle."
There are two trays, one with the main figure and the two Thor heads, the other with some of the extra guns.

 Iron Patriot

So, initially, I thought the red, blue and silver armor was a little too much. Especially since in the film it's more of an energy glow than flat or metallic look to the armor. I will admit that it did start to grow on me and I prefer it over the original figure that we got in the previous wave. There is a lot of intricate detail all throughout the armor. I'm also surprised with how well the joints are hidden on the figure. The figure is made out of hard-ish plastic, mine is a little bow legged but it's sturdy enough to not warp more. The shoulder pieces, like the older figure, are made out of a soft, rubbery plastic to allow for shoulder articulation, especially going out... which isn't much.
The head is identical to the previous one but it has a lot more charm with the silver, blue, and red color scheme. It just makes the detail pop more. I wasn't a fan of the metallic marbled plastic but it does work and gives the intended effect. It's not too much in my opinion.
The figure by itself without any of the attachments is pretty impressive.
Thankfully it does have peg holes that you can attach the repulsor effects for a flying look. Unfortunately, the ball jointed diaphragm isn't enough especially since the sculpting and detail around the head restricts the movement for him to look up.
You do get a couple weapons. You get this cool attachment with long gun-type-thing. They attach at the top two holes and you can have one or both attached at the same time.
You also get a missile launcher-type-thing that has a bigger peg for the whole and aren't interchangeable between the two. They peg in individually so if you want one, you can have it on either side. They are supposed to go this way and not upside down since they won't really peg in well in any other fashion.
Attaching both makes him look really threatening. I did think it was too much at first but I like it!
You can also see the detailing on the side. I'm not sure which one of the two attachments I like more.
The back also has some detail and it looks okay, they can swivel at the peg but you don't get much movement.
You also get more rockets to attach to the sides of the thigh. The painted part faces the front and they are side specific so you can't interchange them.
With all of the attachments on he looks amazing. I wish he did come with more open repulsor hands or even some holes to attach blast effects on any of the guns. Maybe some on the forearms, or the ones up at the top. It's a missed opportunity honestly.
 Seriously, it just looks incredible.
It does have some heft to it and it's pretty heavy, I'm surprised this one wasn't the Build-a-Figure.
He looks great in your Avenger's display, despite him being the only official figure from the film. You have a ball and hinge joint at the head and neck. Hinge and swivel at the shoulder although it is slightly limited. You have a single joint at the elbow and a swivel. You get a hinge and swivel at the wrist. Ball jointed diaphragm. Hinge and swivel hips, double jointed knees, rocker ankle and hinge at the ankle. I'm impressed with the amount of ankle articulation, it's a nice surprise.
You can see how different and similar both of these are. The hands are the same, the upper biceps are the same. The lower torso is the same, the thigh is the same for the most part except it has ports for the missiles. The head is also identical. This looks so much better than the previous figure.
Even in the back, this new figure looks so much better. The attached guns at the bottom weren't my favorites since they fell off pretty easily.
The head is identical and you can see what a big different a little bit of paint makes.
He's taller than the Mark 03 War Machine from Civil War and the Iron Spider from the Infinity War 2-pack.
Taller than both the Mark 85 Iron Man from the same wave and the Mark 0049 Rescue armor from the previous wave.
Good height with both the Avengers: Endgame "Smart" Hulk and the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Rocket Raccoon.
This Ant-Man is terribly undersized but it'll do, and it goes well with the ZD Toys Hulk, I cannot wait for the Marvel Select one.
This is one of my favorite figures, it's between this one and the next figure that I have a hard time deciding who I like more. It's such a nice figure, especially for the low low price of wherever you get it from. $19.85 or $16.87 at Wal-Mart if you're lucky enough. $19.99 in most places like Target, Amazon, or HasbroPulse. $22.99 at GameStop... because who cares. So if you're a fan of the film, the Iron Man or War Machine armors, or just like cool figures, this is a great one for you. I just wish it was released before instead of the one that ended up coming out. Happy Hunting!
