Review: Avengers: Endgame (2019) - Marvel Legends Valkyrie (Endgame Thor Wave)

Time for another newer figure! This one for a character that appeared in the film and one that wasn't a re-use from another figure. It's Valkyrie which is something that was previously released as a character but not a figure. She appeared as a part of the Ragnarok 2-pack with her Sakaaran scavenger gear, unfortunately she wasn't released in this uniform which is a shame but we finally get one! I just wish she came with two heads... more on that later. Also, technically her name is Brunnhilde, and she is a Valkyrie, so this is her Valkyrie uniform.

You get the figure, same ol' box with the Avengers: Endgame logo on the front.
The side has a nice concept shot of Valkyrie which was actually spoiled by a figure before the movie came out. People weren't sure if she survived or not but then she was found as a 12" figure with the braids and people put two and two together and turns out, she's in the movie.
"An honored warrior, Valkyrie uses her strength and skill to defend Asgard."

Valkyrie

So, this is a brand new sculpt and it looks amazing! Although, honestly, I can't really tell if it's super accurate or not but it does look like it's supposed to look like. The textures and details are all there but I feel like the texture of the white parts are a little too... present. The skirt, while a separate piece, looks like it will restrict the articulation of the hips, it doesn't. It's soft enough that it'll give and more around with the legs. I like the color scheme of the whole costume. The cape is a separate piece and it does come off, the shoulder pads are also a part of the cape.
It is removable and it does stick peg in pretty well. It's not annoying but it isn't perfect.
The face does look pretty good! You can tell it's Tessa Thompson... but a little angrier. I feel like the eyes are a little too far apart but you know what... I'll take it! The concept art does look better. The hair looks amazing, I love the braids on her.

This figure does come with a few accessories. One of them is the Dragonfang sword with the sheath.
It's not perfect and she can't hold the sheath on either hand. It doesn't even have a place to store which is a little annoying.
She can kind of hold it on the right hand but the handle is way too small. It's also very soft so it warps extremely easily.
She's fairly articulated but the way the feet are sculpted make that really difficult. The feet have heels and since you have to angle the foot so she stands well, the ankle rocker motion doesn't work well. The good thing about this figure is a good single hinge elbow which goes past ninety-degrees.
She shoulders have a hinge and swivel, the hips as well. The double jointed knees and the hinge on the ankle for forward and back but it does look strange.
The diaphragm join, elbow swivel, thigh swivel. The wrists swivel at the pin and they're hinged.
She has a ball jointed head and hinged neck. The braids are posed so they'll float if you position the head in any other direction where the braids wouldn't touch the body.
She doesn't come with her spear that she had in the film and this could have been better as a part of a set with... I don't know, maybe a Pegasus!
It's okay, she does fit in with the rest of the figures. She is the shortest of the Asgardians. Tessa Thompson is 5'4", Cate Blanchett is 5'6", and Idris Elba is 6'2". She is the shortest so I'll take it!
Fits well with Thor and Hulk, they make look smaller than she actually is.
Shorter than Korg and Thanos, I didn't realize how big Korg and Thanos were, Korg could have definitely been a Build-a-Figure.
Like the other figures in the same wave, she's showing up in stores as of late for $18.95 or $16.85 at Wal-Mart depending on their rollback or lack of it. Target and most places online for $19.99, and $22.99 at GameStop. She's one of my favorites of the bunch, she just looks great and the white and the gold and blue accents on the costume just make her look appealing. Happy hunting!
