Review: Power Rangers Zeo - Bandai of America Legacy Collection Gold Ranger

Even though Jason left the team in season 2 of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers he came back for Power Rangers Zeo as the Gold Ranger. In Choriki Sentai Ohranger, Kingranger was a kid and the symbol on his face is the kanji for king (王) which they use to represent the number 6. Ever since the Green Ranger or Dragonranger the design for the 6th ranger has been pretty standard. It's a different color with little to no aesthetic changes. Dragonranger was just a green version of the Zyuranger suit with a helmet that resembled Tyrannoranger's and additional armor. Kibaranger was a white version of the Dairanger suit with a chest piece and no gold trim that went down the center of the chest. Kakuranger had no official 6th ranger but they had Ninjaman or Ninjor which counted as extra hero. This version of the Ranger in the Legacy Collection line had a lot of controversy due to the way the prototype was painted, but we'll get to that later.

Review: Power Rangers Zeo - Bandai of America Legacy Collection Build-a-Megazord Zeo Megazord // Zeo Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink Rangers

After Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger's three seasons and a mini season called Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers, Saban decided to try replacing all of the zords, villains, and suits for the first time. It does continue the story from the past three seasons and keeps the main cast but with upgraded powers. Power Rangers Zeo was a successful season, based on Choriki Sentai Ohranger, Super Sentai's seventeenth season. As you can see there is no black ranger, I honestly don't remember the explanation that they gave for that but I do remember a lot of it especially the villains. A lot of my memories of Power Rangers Zeo come from Jetix's Power Rangers Generations where they would show episodes from different seasons of Power Rangers. Zeo Ranger 5 (Red), Zeo Ranger 4 (Green) and Zeo Ranger 3 (Blue) had been released as part of the 5th Wave of Legacy Collection figures by Bandai of America. It was one of the first few waves that I had bought in store. I remember I got 4 figures when I checked my local Wal-Mart, the one I had been going to since I was a wee lad and spent $80 that night which I wasn't proud of but now it's not the worst thing in the world. The girls were harder to find since they were some of the last few figures to be released, I had pre-ordered them on GameStop.com back in February of 2018 and didn't get them until August I think, I found them in store first and forgot to cancel my pre-order so now I have two of each.

Review: Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers - Bandai Legacy Collection Metallic Red, Black, Blue, Yellow, Pink Rangers

Last month I reviewed the Legacy Collection Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Build-a-Dino Megazord. And you saw that instead of their individual weapons they came with pieces to build the Dino Megazord. Well, they re-released the figures but not quite the same, if anything they improved them by giving them the "Metallic" treatment. They're not metallic by any means, they're actually just translucent but it works, it gives it an extra sheen which is neat. The additional accessory is their individual Power Weapons and they fix a couple things from the previous releases.

Review: Aquaman (2018) - DC Multiverse Gladiator Battle (Aquaman & Orm)

So, Aquaman, a movie my dad wanted to watch in Theaters but we didn't get a chance to unfortunately. Eventually the movie made it onto DVD and we wanted to watch it either on Pay Per View or Vudu but neither of them had them in spanish so I suggested that I go to Wal-Mart and buy it (of course with my ulterior motives) so I did and then we watched it. I wanted to watch Wonder Woman and Justice League before then but eh. Aquaman was surprisingly good but certain things about it just rubbed me the wrong way. The long takes were strange and the overall lightning of the movie a little too bright. The use of CGI wasn't always perfect but it's tough when your movie is about people who can talk and breathe underwater. The hair always looked strange and the way the capes flowed was strange. The underwater battle sequences with the different Kingdoms looked outdated and pretty bad at certain points but overall, a good movie. I would watch it again, I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it or not. I probably would.

Review: Black Panther (2018) - Marvel Legends Shuri (Avengers: Endgame Hulk Build-a-Figure)

So the first figure I found for the new Avengers: Endgame "Smart" Hulk wave was Shuri at a GameStop by herself and I'm not the only one. According to the website, Shuri was released on 6/2, so last week. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the wave at Target or Wal-Mart because anything at GameStop is more expensive. I have been waiting for this figure for so long ever since it was hinted at last year and I have completed my Black Panther movie Marvel Legends, I can finally get rid of my Basic Shuri from the Black Panther (2018) wave (just kidding I still like that figure). Seriously, I had been looking for an alternative because I was surprised she wasn't released in the M'Baku wave with the other figures from the movie. Still, I'm glad I have her now and let's get to it.

Review: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Lightning Collection Lord Zedd

While they took the White Ranger suit as well as the villains, mecha and some weapons from the 17th Season of Super Sentai, Gosei Sentai Dairanger from Japan, there was one new creation that was exclusive to Power Rangers. Lord Zedd who ended up taking over the role of big bad from Rita Repulsa. He had a pretty amazing design, intimidating and something completely different from Power Rangers and Super Sentai. He reminded me a little bit of Bane because of the tubes that he had around his body. I always liked the fleshy red color that they used for the skin. I was surprised to see that Hasbro was going to release him in wave one! We've had Lord Zedd figures before but none like this. It's a good addition to a line of figures that has had too many Rangers and not enough villains for them to fight against.

Review: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - NECA Godzilla (2019)

I saw Godzilla: King of the Monsters during the opening weekend, I loved it. 5 years ago I went to watch Godzilla and I had my doubts but this, this I was very excited for. Especially after watching the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" version of the trailer, I was hooked. I tried to avoid watching most trailers and it was definitely worth it. Since I didn't watch the trailers I also didn't get a lot of the film spoiled, I won't go into that today. The main reason I was skeptical about it was because Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah would appear in the film and I wasn't ready for those three iconic monsters to get the Hollywood treatment. Sure, Godzilla (2014) didn't look terrible, he is definitely a Godzilla but an American Godzilla at that. It has the overall shape but the face looks a little generic but it's grown on me. Let's get to it!

Review: Avengers: Endgame - Marvel Legends Walmart Exclusive Captain America Power and Glory (Spoilers)

Avengers: Endgame has been in theaters for over a month now, the second wave of basic figures have been released. The second Marvel Legends Endgame wave has found its way to certain parts of the United States, unfortunately for me I haven't been able to find any near me. This figure was released about 2 weeks ago and I had searched far and wide. I didn't find it until I went to watch Godzilla: King of the Monsters on Sunday and I was very lucky, I almost didn't go to Wal-Mart. Now if I could only get my hands on Binary Captain Marvel... Anyways let get to it!

Review: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Lightning Collection White Ranger

Last year, it was announced that Saban had sold the rights to Power Rangers to Hasbro. This was very surprising and out of the blue. I was already excited about announced Legacy Collection figures like the Ninja Steel team that never occured. I went out to buy a Marvel Legend to see what we'd be getting and I wasn't disappointed, my first figure was the Black Panther from the movie. I was very excited to see what they could come up with and eventually I got into the Black Series figures which got me even more pumped! Still, it was a long road ahead until we got this new figure and it was actually the first figure to be announced and have a prototype. At first it looked a little strange but in person it looks amazing. I'm surprised Bandai wasn't able to make a figure like this. The S.H. Figuarts are at a different level but they're still articulated well and have accessories for an affordable price. Let's get to it.
