Review: Fantastic 4 - Marvel Legends Invisible Woman & Human Torch (Super Skrull Wave 2020)

There's a video out for this, if you want to check that out click right here! I got Invisible Woman through Amazon since I had pre-ordered her ahead of time. I found the Human Torch and Doctor Doom at Wal-Mart later that weekend, so last weekend, I mean, the one before this most recent one. So far, I'm very pleased because it's the first time I have all fantastic four as a team. I would have preferred to have the classic costumes, the Walgreens ones, but this will do. Let's get to it.

Invisible Woman's box is the same as the other two, you have that nice blue throughout the box, and the logo and name of the character in the front.
The side has nice art of Sue but it might be a little too detailed.
You get a shot of her in the back, I do think she looks better in person. She does look quite different here in the prototype, it's mainly the paint apps or maybe the lighting.

"Sue Storm has the ability to bend light, making herself and others invisible"

Invisible Woman

The figure itself, is basic, nothing here is sculpted and it's the usual adult female body that needs an update. The paint applications are also basic but they work. They pull of the spandex superhero suit well. I like the patterns and detailing along the back and the gloves. The shoes are new! They have cleats at the bottom but only in the front of her shoes. Unfortunately, her legs are pretty warped. Another thing for the shoes is, the unnecessary heels that she has, she's already hard to stand up as is and now you have to deal with the heels!
The head looks good, the paint looks best from head on and the hair is also a strong point. It looks good and it flows well. It still gets in the way but it works.
She comes with two hands, a closed fist and an open hand, nothing else.
You  get one effect piece which is for her force field that you can attach easily on the hand.
It's quite heavy, so since she's already pretty hard to stand up, she'll fall down a lot easier this way.
You don't get a lot of play here, you don't get any invisible body parts which would have been a nice addition but it's hard to do, I get it, her powers don't translate well in figure form.
She is a nice addition to the team, but she does leave a lot to be desired.
The box for the Human Torch, he does come with a hefty bunch of accessories. Same box and nice logo at the bottom.
The back has a product shot and he head looks very different here than he actually does. The head looks a little better here, the look and the paint is cleaner.

"Johnny Storm can transform in body into incredibly hot plasma, control fire, and fly."

The art looks good, it is a little uncanny, much like Sue's box art.

Human Torch

The figure looks good, the paint job is identical to Mr. Fantastic's, the only difference is the body. The patterns in the front, back, gloves and boots look great. I'm starting to warm up to these more modern designs. Same boots, but the hands are different. I did have some issues with these default fists.
The face looks okay, it's not the best but it's not bad. The eyebrows are weird and the hair looks too gummy, the yellow is too bright. He also looks a lot more cheeky but the smirk is good.
You get two pairs of hands, you get one pair of fists that attach well the first time... more on that later.
You also get a flame fist and open hand as well as some fiery effect pieces that wrap around the body.
These hands are the same ones as the one from the Walgreens one. The pegs on the hands are bigger than the port and the pegs on the other fists.
I had these hands on for a while since I displayed it like this but once I changed it back to the other hands, the fists were loose in the wrist!
I guess the peg stretched out the port but it's okay. I would have liked alternate limbs and maybe a fiery head but this will do for now.
I do really like him and you get more dynamic poses due to the nature of the character.

The articulation for Invisible Woman is basic, ball jointed head, hinge on the neck. The pin on the shoulder which has a swivel, hinge to go in and out.
Elbow has a single hinge that goes up to 90-degrees and swivel, pin on the wrist for swivel and hinge on the wrist. Ball jointed diaphragm, ball jointed hips, in and out movement. Thigh swivel, double jointed knees, hinge on the ankle, pin on the foot for swivel.

Human Torch, ball jointed head, hinge on the neck. Butterfly shoulders, pin on the shoulders for swivel, hinge on the shoulders. Bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pin on the wrist for swivel and hinge on the wrist. Ab crunch, waist swivel, ball jointed hips, forward back, in and out. Thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel, hinge on the ankle and pin on the foot for rocking action.
These are starting to make it out, about $19.85-$22 which is a fair price, at GameStop it's $24 and elsewhere it will depend. I found them at GameStop and Wal-Mart, they've been showing up at Walgreens and Target but I haven't seen them and they should be easy to find online through Amazon and HasbroPulse for a fair price. I love these figures and I'm happy to have the whole team together. Happy hunting everyone!
