Review: Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) - Hasbro Target Exclusive Marvel Legends Spider-Man (School Jacket) // Marvel's MJ 2-Pack

More Spider-Man stuff, seriously, I love me some Spider-Man and especially if they use the classic design or just keep the overall look. Spider-Man: Homecoming made me love the webhead all over again. When this two pack was announced I didn't pre-order it because I've been spending too much and I figured I'd find this eventually so I'd buy it then. Once he was released I didn't see any trace of him. I did find him once about a month or two later but didn't buy it because I didn't have the funds and didn't want to use my credit card. Then I didn't find at all for months even though I kept looking everywhere. I went to Washington D.C. in mid-July and thought I'd find the set there and didn't but I did get a discounted Kraven and Spider-Man 80th anniversary 2-pack. Once I came back I used some unorthodox ways to find this set in store and found one! Although there was a smudge on MJ, but it was the only one and I did find the Iron Man and Iron Spider 2-pack so I got that as well. Thinking that I was wasn't gonna find one anywhere ever again probably I settled for it and figured I'd try to fix it. So I went to another Target closer to my house and I found a bunch of them and got it replaced. The lady at customer service looked at me funny and asked me what was the problem with the one I had so I told her and got it exchanged. Now I didn't care much for another Spider-Man that had a yellow jacket or an MJ and that was another reason why I didn't pre-order it, once I watched Spider-Man: Far From Home I really really wanted an MJ to go with my black and red suit Spider-Man.

The box has the logo and a nice background with all of the accessories visible.
The side has a picture of the logo that's on the jacket. Midtown School of Science and Technology that was established in 1962 which is the school Peter goes to. There's two pictures of MJ on the side of the box. They call her Michelle for most of the movie until the end she reveals that her friends call her MJ. There's also one picture of Peter with his jacket trapped in the vault.

A picture of the poster which Tom Holland revealed was just him taking a nap and someone snapped a picture and it ended up as a poster. I did go watch this when it came out. It was the first MCU movie I went to watch in theaters. There's another pic of Spider-Man and MJ as well as a short description of the set.
"Students at the Midtown School of Science and Technology, Peter Parker and MJ experience the powers of Spider-Man firsthand when the web-slinger must suit up to take down the Vulture."

Spider-Man

It looks to be identical to previous release of the suit but with new arms and new pieces for the jacket. The hoodie and the yellow jacket are two separate pieces and they're fairly easy to remove. It is pretty nice although I still think he looks a little too wide.
The head is identical to the previous release, I do like the more rounded out eyes that they used for this version. I'm not the biggest fan of the head sculpts they used for the Iron Spider and red and black suit. This one also has the web pattern painted or at least it has a wash. I don't know why this figure is more nicely painted than the newer figures.
Even though the logo is very small it's nicely printed onto the shirt. It does look a little too clean.
You get a pair of fists with this figure, same as the regular release from the Vulture wave.
I wish he came with a pair of grabby hands.
A pair of twipping hands but no wall crawling hands which would have been really good!
They missed a perfect opportunity to give this figure more accessories especially since the scene it's based off of is where he tries out a wide array of web options.
This figure has all of the articulation as the previous figure with one exception! This might be one of the few Spider-Man figures without a butterfly shoulder joint! Which I do understand especially with the new jacket, you wouldn't have gotten much from it but honestly it still works for what it is.

Marvel's MJ

This MJ figure is passable, it works. It doesn't really look like Zendaya in my opinion I do like the outfit but I don't think she wore this specific outfit in the movie. I guess it kind of is, I'm not sure but it looks good. Unfortunately the jacket piece makes her arms stick out a little too far for my liking.
This is one of the two heads she comes with, the hair is nicely sculpted however it doesn't look like her. I would have preferred a more disinterested head rather than this angry, serious looking head.
She comes with a right fist and a left grabby hand that would hold something, anything? Maybe a spear or mace or some sort of medieval weapon.
A pair of open hands, they're not relaxed but I do think they're too big, the fingers are too spindly. The right hand has this weird expression and the left open hand just looks like a seastar.
She fits in well with your Spider-Man figures since she does look taller than Peter. Zendaya is 5'10" and Tom is 5'8" which is still taller than me.
Her alternate head is smiling and I think this one looks less like Zendaya than the previous one. I don't know but that smirk just looks strange in my opinion. The hair is also a little weird but I understand why it's sculpted the way it is.
Basic female figure articulation. Ball and hinge at the head, hinge and swivel at the hips, shoulders and wrists. Singe elbow and elbow swivel, double jointed knees, thigh swivel. Hinge at the ankles and rocker action. Ball joint at the diaphragm.
Due to how small her feet are, she's really hard to stand properly, and this is a problem with most of the female figures with a few exceptions, one of them being Captain Marvel.
MJ is half a head taller than the Spider-Man in this set.
She's just a bit shorter than some of the other MCU heroines.
Still taller than both new Spider-Man figures from the Spider-Man: Far From Home Molten Man Build-a-Figure wave.
The Spider-Man is in the middle.
Same size as the techsuit one from the Vulture wave but the lines are darker on the legs and still much shorter then the Homemade suit which is so weird to me why that figure is that tall.
A bit taller than both Iron Spiders, one from the 80th Anniversary Infinity War 2-pack and the one from the Infinity War Thanos Build-a-Figure wave.
Still I think this is a good set. I like having the Spider-Man to recreate the poster and that's about it, I don't have much use for it... The MJ on the other hand is very good since Spider-Man: Far From Home had her in a more important role. She's gonna go well in that display since she and Peter or Spider-Man interact a lot more. Also MJ stands for Michelle Jones rather than Mary Jane.
From what I have seen, this set is incredibly common out in the wild and as of now you won't have trouble finding a decent set. It is about $39.99 in Target which is the only place you can find them. You can check online but I don't think they're available and in Amazon and Wal-Mart this will be a third party item for almost twice the price so I don't recommend looking there. Happy hunting!
