Kamen Rider Build (2018) - Bottle Change Rider Series 01 Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form (Best Match!)

Rabbit! Tank! Best Match! I finally caught up to Kamen Rider and Super Sentai after a long 5 years, it only took roughly 3 weeks during the Quarantine in order to watch all those episodes. Kamen Rider Build was one of my favorite seasons, the last 3 seasons before Kamen Rider Zero One were pretty good in my opinion. The Figuarts are too expensive so I settled for the basic figure in the line because I was curious as to how the figures would work since in the show, Build transforms with two halves, one appears in the front for the right side, and one in the back for the left side and then they combine. Rabbit Tank happens to be his main form and a best match.

The box looks pretty fancy and it keeps the Bandai Japan, Kamen Rider aesthetic for their toy packaging. At the top it says "Create a Rider by your own hands!" This is the first one of the line, I might get more just because I liked the series.
The back shows a nice product shot of the figure. It also has adverts for other figures in the line. It also says you can freely combine them.
At the top it shows how to combine them, just clip them together and push the button on the lower back to separate.
It shows the 3 features: Mask, Build Driver, and Drill Crusher!
The sides don't have anything fancy. On the right side it says "Transform to Rabbit Tank Form!
It slips out fairly easily, you get three things you get the Tank half (left) and the Rabbit half (right) as well as the Drill Crusher (middle).
They're painted in the front but not the back except for the belt. You don't see any screws.
Putting them together is fairly easy, just slip them together until they clip.

 Rabbit! Tank! Best Match!

The detailing on this 6" figure is incredible, all of the detail is there and the paint on the chest and legs are kinda shiny and metallic. The feet and arms are red and blue plastic so they don't match the body.
The detail runs along the body with the diagonal lines, you have a fairly normal looking body type. The back needs to be painted, and to take them apart you just need to press the button on the lower back right above the belt strap. The helmet is my favorite part, the rabbit is detailed, and the rank is not noticeable until you really look. I wasn't the biggest fan of the design initially but it grew on me.
The Build Driver looks great for a basic figure, it has the bottle detail and the lever thingy. It has a little bit of paint and the holster on the side. All the detail is there in case you want to paint some of it yourself. I'm going to keep mine as it is.
This is a fun figure although it is fairly loose in some joints.
The shoulders are pins, there's a hinge to allow for outward movement. The bicep swivel goes 360-degrees.
Elbows are unfortunately single jointed and only go 90-degrees. Fingers are articulated and the wrist is on a swivel.
Hips are on a pin and swivel, they go out pretty far. The knees are single jointed, they go about 90-degrees. The thighs have a good swivel. The feet are on a ball joint but they don't get a ton of range but it's just enough.
Unfortunately for our friend Kiryu Sento, he doesn't have any head or hip swivel because of the gimmick, which is forgivable but I the lack of head articulation really kills me.

 Drill Crusher (Weapon Accessory)

The Drill Crusher is a single piece of black plastic, but it's well detailed but on one side.
The hands do grab on but since they're articulated they don't have the best grip so it does fall fairly often.
He can kind of hold it with both hands but the positioning looks awkward. It's still nice to have.
Not really much more to say, I love this figure for what it is. It was about $16-$17 on Amazon so I got it. I'm not sure how hard it is to find but good luck! It was worth it in my opinion and I'm looking forward to getting more Kamen Rider stuff.

  1. Congrats on one of the best figures in this line. For the price you (and me) payed it´s all worthy and a nice representation of our beloved hero. Missing head and hips articulation makes him a limited poser.
In daylight the colors of his armor do look better than on the pictures in this indoors setting. Otherwise it´s a very nice review.

Bandai stopped doing the Gimmicks Line for Kamen Rider. It´s all Rider Kick´s Figure now ...

    1. Yeah, it's a shame, the gimmicks for the last couple seasons were fun. I even got the Snap Rider Build to go with it. Thanks for the comment!
