Review: Power Rangers Ninja Steel - Armored Dragon Zord

The Dragon Zord! One of the humanoid shaped (kinda) zords out of the main 5. I was very back and forth when I was getting this figure, TRU had plenty of him and Robo-Red Zord but I didn't act fast enough and he was gone. After a month or two I found him at a different TRU so I decided to get him. Is he really worth getting? Well... Yes and no, there are some good things about this figure and some not so great things but that's all opinion.

Surprisingly, I liked this more than I thought I would, while it doesn't look like the prop they used in the show, it looks more like a person in a suit. You could even pose it like it was in the show with the kite since it's that articulated... and it doesn't have wings... The figure itself does have some accessories and it does include the tail! As a separate piece but still... no wings.
It comes with the Shuriken, the tail and the spinner thing.

The Shuriken itself looks like the Preston's Ninja Power Star and the wings are separate pieces. The gray wings as a part of the Shuriken were the things that turned me off and made me not want to buy this. I didn't like that it didn't have blue wings, or that these couldn't attach to the figure without the Armor Shuriken. Before we get to the Shuriken let's talk about the tail.
The tail is a sword! which he can hold and it has a peg that can attach to the Dragon butt. And with the good articulation it can slouch like a real dragon. Knees, ankles, and neck pivot. Elbows, knees and neck are on a hinge and elbows and hips rotate and go in and out. Thankfully the gimmick isn't built into the figure so the articulation is fully functional. The feet are on a weird angle which makes it difficult to stand up properly and normally.
With the tail, it's still very small compared to the DX Dragonzord. You do see the consistencies in the detail but the legs are different on both. This figure also has the detail where it would peg in the Megazord which is really neat.
With the spinner you can attach the Shuriken or even Robo-Red Zord's Shuriken to it and pull on the lever to watch some magic happen.
It kinda sorta spins, occasionally it'll have a good spin. They call it the Tornado Twist in the package. You could even spin it yourself and you'll get the nice Ninja Power Star spin effect. These armor stars could have been designed out of the actual ones and that would have been cool but the silver is alright I guess.
To put on the armor you must turn the head up, otherwise it wont fit.
With the armor it looks kinda cool? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't depending on the angle. I mean... it doesn't look terrible.
While you do get the wings in this mode, the wing span is very disappointing... The tail doesn't get in the way of the armor but you can't just take it off or attach it easily with the armor already on.
The spinner doesn't actually go anywhere but he can still hold it and the tail can still be the sword.
It fits nicely with Robo-Red Zord, he is still taller but that depends on how you stand up the Dragonzord.
The Armor is compatible between the two but it just doesn't look right.
It can attach to the peg on Robo-Red Zord but the peg isn't as long as the Red Armor Star. The lack of wings without the armor does still bother me quite a bit. There isn't a way to display him without it that looks right unless you get creative or make custom wings for him. Still, the detail is nice and it's surprisingly fun to play with, especially with the spinner. He's about $12? But the discounts at TRU probably dropped his price. It's up to you if you want to get him though.
