Review: Power Rangers Ninja Steel - Armored Red, Blue, and White Ranger

After the Megazord is formed, the rangers take out their Ninja Master Power Stars to get into the newest of the Cockpit modes. The Cockpit modes started back in Power Rangers Samurai and continued in Dino Charge. Megaforce and Super Megaforce used regular Sentai Footage. As of now, Cockpit modes are just for the cockpit. They're also another way to make money off of fans like me who will buy anything that appears on the show, another one of which I'll review soon. This particular toy is just in the Armored line along with the Robo-Red Zord and Dragon Zord. The main gimmick of the line is just snap on armor, and 5" figures with action features. As of now, Red, Blue, and White have been released. There are prototypes of the others but they haven't been released, this is also the case with the Ninja Training Mode Figures. Either way, I liked these much more than I expected and with Toys R Us closing I took advantage of the sales and bought these, White was about $6 but Red and Blue were on "AUG" which meant that they weren't part of the "Toys R Us Catalog" so they were $20 instead of the $15. They cost me about 10 a piece... It's fine I guess...

Out of the box, they're pretty cool. Unlike Robo-Red Zord and Dragon Zord, these aren't unique molds. They're surprisingly good for gimmick figures that aren't in the main line. They're fully articulated and they are mostly painted. They have a really cool gold chest symbol in the sash but the white trim isn't painted. Something that's pretty neat is that their Ninja Power Stars in the belt aren't just gold, they have their respective colors but that's just because the belt was the only thing that was painted. Still, that's one thing they have over the regular 5" figures.
They're nearly identical of the 5" figures, if it wasn't for the Gold Chest or the missing trim...
Red is the same, the back isn't painted with all of these figures. They also have screws and holes in the back and the right wrist. The back is unpainted, which is unfortunate.
Still, not a bad Red Ranger figure.
Blue is also pretty much identical minus the holes and screws.
Back is also unpainted.
Pink is pretty much the same figure minus the paint.
Another thing, the pegs, but the exact same articulation without restrictions.
Red and Blue have an action gimmick which is referred to as the "Power Punch" which is the same as Robo-Red Zord is you read that review.
They can also hold weapons for extra effect and playability.
They all come with armor that's their respective color.
It has springs for the snap effect and are painted really nicely. They have a lot of details. Red and Blue have two pegs, one on the back of the armor in order to peg in the back and another one in the shoulder so they can peg in the forearm of the rangers.
White has the smallest one out of all of them. But it does come with the twister thingy for the "Tornado Twist"!
They look cool like that but the Ninja Stars are too heavy, especially for White since she's tiny and the joints don't hold in place well and it's too heavy for her to stand.
After a couple swings with the Power Star it becomes loose from its position.
I'm not sure how one would use the Tornado Twist feature since it's so awkward.
Morphin' Armor!
The Armor snaps on and pegs in place.

They look funky with their armor since it's large but they look nice. Better than I expected but still too big. I do like the colored Power Stars in their belts.
The guys don't look terrible but the shoulder pads are too big.
The original prototypes are sort of different, they had the strap that does underneath the shoulder meet on the side instead of having a gap.
White's armor is more petite so it looks better in my opinion compared to Red and Blue.
The armor does hinder the gimmick and it's awkward to use, it removes the armor easily.
They don't come with other weapons unfortunately but if you give them swords they look better.
They're not in scale with the Zords but they are compatible. Guys have similar proportions to them.
Red can use Robo-Red's Armor and it looks nice.
It doesn't look terrible or out of place.
Blue looks neat with Dragon Zord's armor, the wings make him look silly. Dragon Zord looks good with the Blue Armor, can't say the same about Robo-Red Zord.
Of course they're compatible with each other.
Pink doesn't fit the guys, the peg doesn't peg since it's too small and their bodies are too wide.
And since the shoulders are too wide the peg gets in the way so it's crooked.
Pink looks good from the front.
The armor is too wide but it doesn't look terrible.
They're very compatible and she looks good.
 Robo-Red's armor
And she can hold the Boomerang. Overall, these figures were much better than I expected and much like the other 5" Rangers, they'll fit in the Megazord. I don't regret getting them since they look really good, they make a good display piece but I hate that they don't have the other 3. Hopefully they'll get released but at the rate things are going, there isn't much hope for them. At this point, Toys R Us is probably closed, their last day and you'll be able to find them on Amazon for a decent price if you want to get them and don't mind just having 3 out of 6.
